Abigail Lewis (she/her) is an ecosystem ecologist and a research associate at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC). Her research combines field studies, global data analysis, and ecological forecasting to predict the impacts of global change on aquatic ecosystems. At SERC, Abby is developing forecasts of methane emission from coastal wetlands to inform marsh restoration and carbon budgeting efforts.
Abby will be starting as a tenure-track professor within the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia in fall of 2027. If you are interested in joining the lab, please see open positions here!
